Bovidelf is derived from Bovidae (family name for goats) and dolphin.

- Bovidelf is one of four Pokemon in the Omnis region to have no weakness (although this can only happen if it has its hidden ability), the others being its preevolution Vesfaun, in addition to Ghouldron and Cauldergeist with Levitate . It is also one of the seven Pokemon overall to have no weakness, the others being the Tynamo line.
